I have learnt so much from this research process this term and am glad to say that after this course, I’m confident in doing a carefully analysed study using proper techniques on my own without any help from my friends.

Working on a research project is undoubtedly tough but a gratifying experience where you can apply your knowledge and skills to it to the best of your ability. I believe that I have applied what I learnt through my lectures into my survey and used the best of my ability to create a good report.

This research was a chance for me to pursue an in-depth original study on my topic which I always wanted to know more about. I found out that my hypothesis was right and it gave me a joy that I hadn’t felt in a really long time. But there are some drawbacks and things that I realised that pulled away a greater result from me regarding my research. For instance, it’s much harder to gain trust regarding students opening up about sensitive topics. I am a student and this is as much data that I could collect, if I were a university professor, I’m sure that my data collection could’ve been better and more informative.

I wanted to conduct some face-to-face interview to further enhance the credibility of my research and make it more intimate. Unfortunately, I could not do so since my schedule was extremely packed with other assignments and work. If I could have done 1-2 interviews, I think I would have had done a better report with higher quality.

In the future, when I will be doing any kind of research, I will manage my schedule better and use a more variety of research methods as well as explore different data gathering techniques. To conclude, this research was very helpful in many ways. I have learned a lot of useful information that could come in handy in my future job.
